After watching the documentary Inside North Korea, what comparisons can you make between the North Korean government and the Capitol of Panem in the Hunger Games?
A comparioson I can make between The North Korean Government and The Capitol Of Panem in the Hunger Games is that neither government allows them to communicate with people outside of North Korea/Panem. Also, the people of Panem and of North Korea are not allowed to have phones so it makes it harder for the people to communicate with each other.
A comparison I can make between the North Korean government and the Capitol of Panem in the Hunger Games, is they both don't let the people out of the Districts or North Korean, there both not aloud to have connections with the other districts, and if they don't follow rules they have consequences that are Aalmost the same.
The comparisons that i can make between North Korean Government and the Captol of Panem in the Hunger Games is that both governments try to keep total control over there nathion. In the Hunger Games the Capitol put's fences around the Districts to keep everyone in or out. This is to keep people from entering or escaping the district. But in the North Korean Government the president (master) keeps guards everywhere and a huge wall is dividing the North and South parts of Korea.
Imagine living in fear, afraid to do anything, afraid to speak up and use your voice. This is what is happening to Katniss and the citizens of North Korea. The dictator of North Korea basically makes the citizen kiss the ground where he stands, while they are barely able to have enough food to live on every month, and they are living in harsh conditions many dying every day. Therefore, if the poor people of North Korea sneeze wrong they might be executed. This is very, I mean VERY similar to way it is with the Panem in The Hunger Games. Katniss has to break the law in order to bring food to the three people in her household, and she has to only give her family small portions of food each day, to reserve the rations food her family gets. People in the seam die almost every day, because they are either starving or dying of disease. There are many comparisons of the two, but this was only a few.
One comparison i can make between panem and north korea is that they are under extreme opression. In north korea there are no cell phones allowed, strict food rationing, and un-devoited loyalty to Kim Jong Il. In panem they ahve to be ruled without question by president snow, they have to be kept in there district with no way to get out legally.
A comparison that i can make between the Capitol of Panem in the Hunger Games and the North Korean Government is that the government is trying to control the nation. In the hunger games there is a fence that surrounds each disrict. The North Korean government Has a fence that if you try to cross you will die from the thousand of volts the fence is holding. Both governments take the right of freedom of speech.
One comparison that I can make between the Capitol of Panem, and the government of North Korea, is that both of there government is very controlling. They both have a fence around there city were no one can get out, and the people are trappped. The rulers or ruler, only care about there selfs, and only there self. The rulers do not take care of there people, when there in need of help or hungry they let there people starve in hunger, and sometimes, most of the time the people die. The people of Panem, and North Korea are not aloud to have contact within the outside world, or other districts. They are not aloud to have weapons. And if the rulers of both Panem and North Korea find out that some of the people had a rebellion than they could get killed.
North Korea is a place where all people have no comunication to the outer world. Panem is like North Korea because the disticts have no comunication between the other districts. The DMZ in Norht Korea is like the big fence around disrict 12. Even though it is guarded people still leave North Korea like Katniss leaves the district. Leaving these places are a form of rebellion.
A comparison between the Capitol of Panem and the government of North Korea is that the people who live there can't have any communication with anybody else. In Panem the districts can't talk to other districts. In North Korea the people who live there can't talk to anybody else in the world. People in Panem and North Korea don't have any phones or computers. People do not know anything about the world outside of where they live.
One comparison i can make between the Capitol or Panem in the Hunger Gmaes and the North Korean Government is that they both are very controlling, selfish, have lots of people worship them...They are both very wealthy.
a comparison i can make between the capitol of panem in the book the hunger games and the north korean government is that in north korea they don't have any communication with the outside world and when the doctor came to do over one thousand surgeries they siezed there cellphones and they felt like they had been cut off from the rest of the world.in the book the hunger games all districts are cut off to so they don't communicate and start to rebel against the capitol.also they have an electric fence around both the districts in panem and in north korea. in north korea it's always full of electricity and one time a man accidentally sent the wrong message and went under the electric fence to not be killed or go to consentration camp.in panem they also have an electric fence but it's not always full of electricity and when it's not katniss and gale from district twelve crawl under the fence to hunt for food for there family so they don't starve to death.
A comparison I can make is that the Capital of Panem puts a fence around district 12 from them having any interaction with other districts. The North Korean government has a border called the DMZ to stop anyone from having any interaction with South Korea. If you tried to leave then you would be killed most likely.
I'm thinking that this is more to do with how celebrities and tourists are treated. In the book Katniss notes that she feels like everything in the Capitol is staged and not quite true. On a blog I read of someone who was invited to North Korea they said that they went into a 'library' and all the people in there weren't doing anything on the computers, just scrolling or staring, no reaction to people coming in or out of the room... and they are both creepy dictatorships that nobody wants to be anywhere near.
